I’d like to introduce myself – I’m Matthew Scott, your new Kent Police and Crime Commissioner.

I’m extremely proud to have been elected and I am determined to do a good job for everyone in Kent; by holding the police to account, making sure they give a good service and allowing the public to hold me to account, too.

Today is my first day in office, and I’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about my Six Point Plan for Kent. I promise to:

  • Cut crime and reduce re-offending;
    Deliver value for money;
    Ensure there is visible, effective and dedicated policing;
    Put victims first;
    Tackle the misery caused by abuse, substance misuse and anti-social behaviour and;
    Revolutionise the way the police deal with those suffering with mental health issues.

Kent is a fantastic place to live and work and I want to make sure everyone feels safe and knows where to turn if they need help. That’s why my initial priorities include increasing the police presence in our urban, rural and coastal communities and being as accessible to the public as I can be, by setting up a programme of public engagements and surgeries.

You can find out more about me at www.kent-pcc.gov.uk/about. I look forward to meeting as many of you as possible, but in the meantime, please do get in touch if there’s any way I can help you.

Best wishes,

Matthew

Scammers will ask for an up-front fee of around £65 in order to process the payment, but no rebate will be issued.
